I'm of the belief that he and Chabot should play at least a season in Bingo and come up for the playoffs next year... Or even the last 1/4 of the season...

Let the kids play with each other and have guys like Brown, Perron, Englund, Ahl and Chalapik come up together... They will be the guys we will be seeing for the next 5-7 years on the big team taking major steps forward.

exactly! let them spend a year or two (maybe less for Chabot) in the minors to allow them to mature. Rushing prospects hasn't really worked recently for Ottawa .... Cowen, Lazar, etc.

Agree 100%

This group just went to game 7 of the ECF against the defending stanley cup winners. There's no reason they shouldn't be able to compete with these teams.

I actually think Chabot is ready now and I think White is 99% if not ready as well. Might as well get them some experience early on and see how things so. if they don't go well, send them to bingo.

Lets be honest, we shouldn't resign Kelly, Neil etc. So that opens up some room. I bet we could even afford to make some bigger trades

Personally, I think both Chabot and White should be starting in the AHL next season... with the general understanding that the role of first call-up is theirs to lose, based on performance. If they're as good as their cracked up to be, it will become quickly evident that roster space will have to be made. Meanwhile, injuries will inevitably provide opportunities for AHL call-up players to make their mark, so there's really no need to apply pressure to the process.

The real question is about development... in the AHL, both White and Chabot will have a chance to step into scoring-line/top-4 roles at the professional level from which they can gain experience and confidence. In the NHL, they'll be fighting to maintain 4th line/3rd pairing roles and getting maybe 1/2 or less of the regular ice time they'd see nightly in Binghamton. Put another way, if Chabot and White are going to be expected to play roles at the level of Karlsson/Phaneuf and Turris/Brassard, they need to have an opportunity to play those roles... not compete with guys like Pyatt, Neil and Borowiecki for grunt minutes, sprinkled with the occasional healthy scratch.

Maybe things change with the expansion draft, but if deals are made to preserve the existing top-9 forward and top-4 defence structure that doesn't leave a lot of opportunity for these prospects to step into meaningful roles out of training camp. But that will change in the near future, with Wideman and Borowiecki having just 1yr left on their contracts, Brassard and Burrows having just 2yrs left, ongoing uncertainty about MacArthur, and longer-term decisions needed for players like Turris, Stone, Ceci, and Pageau.

Just be patient... the goal is for Chabot and White to be core players for the next decade, not to get jerseys on them as quickly as possible.

If your the Vegas Knights and you have a choice between Ryan or Dzingel - and you want to compete SOONER.... who would you take?
